DELPHOS – Joan M. Minning, age 93, of Landeck, passed away July 23, 2025 at St. Rita’s Medical Center with her family next to her. Born on May 17, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio, to Alphonso and Mary (Jackman) Westrick who preceded her in death. Joan lived a life rooted in faith, family and creativity.
A devoted Catholic, Joan was a longtime member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She has co-owned the Landeck Town Tavern for over 45 years. She found joy in the simple pleasures—painting, playing the piano, and sharing laughter over a game of cards with friends and loved ones.
Joan was a beloved mother of four children: Michael Suever North Hills, California, Vicki Richards, Landeck Ohio, Marlene Brand, Delphos and Chris Minning, St. Joseph Michigan. Grandchildren; Kyle & Kayla Richards, Grant and Amanda Brand, Colin (Josie) Brand, Juno Suever, Bryan (Shantel) Suever, Amy (Shane) Lear, Michael Richards, Medina Brand, several Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Grand-Children. She is also survived by Sisters-in law: Alice Westrick and Kathy Westrick.
Joan was preceded in death by her husbands; Wilford “Bill” Suever, Thomas Suever, and Richard “Lou” Minning, her sons-in-law: Bruce Richards and Sonny Brand, her siblings, Sister Mary Margaret Westrick RSM, Joseph Westrick, Leonard (Bill) Westrick, John Westrick, Robert Westrick.
Joan was a member of Landeck CLC Council #84 , Delphos Eagles #471 Ladies Aux., Delphos VFW #3035 Ladies Aux.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Sunday July 27, 2025 from 2:00 -6:00 pm. at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. 5th St., Delphos Ohio. The Landeck CLC service will begin at 5:30, followed by a Parish Wake Service at 5:45.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday July 28, 2025 at 11:00 am. at St. John the Baptist Church -Landeck, 14755 Landeck Rd., Delphos. Burial will follow in in the Landeck Cemetery.
Joan’s family will forever cherish her gentle spirit, her love of music and art, and the steadfast faith that defined her life.
