Jim Holdgreve, 70, of Delphos, passed away Saturday evening, June 10, 2017 at St. Rita's Medical Center Hospice. His Family.... He was born March 10, 1947 in Delphos to Raymond J. and Helen M. (Calvelage) Holdgreve, who both preceded him in death. On August 19, 1972 he married Kathy (Kleman) Holdgreve, who survives in Delphos He is also survived by a son, Brad (Tiffany) Holdgreve of Findlay; a daughter, Sarah (Nathan) Hawk of Columbus; two brothers, Edwin (Marilyn) Holdgreve of Delphos and Donald (Lynnette) Holdgreve of Van Wert; two sisters, Mary Jane (Tom) Osting of Delphos and Eileen (Howard) Klaus of Venedocia; four grandchildren, Emma and Ashton Holdgreve and Rylee and Alexis Hawk; in-laws, Ron and Ruth Baumgarte of Delphos, Jane and Jim Gerdeman of Delphos, Mike and Karen Sarka of Kalida, Sue and Tom Wiechart of Delphos, Norma and Larry Beining of Delphos and John Kleman of Ft. Jennings; and his mother-in-law, Hilda Kleman of Delphos. His Legacy.... Jim retired after working for Kill Brothers/Unverferth for 47 years. He was an Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War, being in Okinawa for 18 months. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 1362 and St. John's Athletic Boosters. He coached little league baseball for more than 8 years. After retirement, Jim volunteered at St. Rita's Medical Center. He loved to golf and travel and was a big OSU and Indians fan. Jim loved his grandkids. He was a great husband and grandpa. His Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with military honors conducted by Delphos Veterans Council. For visitation the family requests that everyone dress casual, wear your Buckeye clothing. Visitation will be from 6-8 on Tuesday, June 13; and 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday with a K of C prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Parish Wake Service at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Teacher's Endowment Fund or the American Cancer Society.
