Herbert L. Swick

DELPHOS - Herbert L. Swick, 88, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday evening, December 22, 2020 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's. He was born August 15, 1932, in Bluffton to Robert and Olive (George) Swick, who both preceded him in death. On August 20, 1955, he married Jean Clark of Hull Yorkshire, England. Herb is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean Swick, who lives in Delphos. He is also survived by a son, David A. (Sheri) Swick of Delphos; a daughter, Patricia Dawn (Joe) Bullinger of Delphos; a sister-in-law, Genie Swick of Elida; six grandchildren, Brent Hochstetler, Collin (Courtney) Swick, Andrew (Shea) Swick, Matt Bullinger, Ben Babcock, and Ryan Bullinger; and six great-grandchildren, Morgyn, Caleb, Carter, Callie, Brecken, and Xavier. He was also preceded in death by an infant son; three brothers, Doyt, Ronald and Denny Swick; and a sister, Joyce Pugh. Herb retired in 1992 after 35 years at Ford Motor Company. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War era. He enjoyed classic cars and his 1979 Cadillac Eldorado. Herb cherished his time with his family, especially enjoyed his grands and great-grandkids. He was a very kind and giving man. Herb was a true gentleman; he was a quiet man, but yet very quick witted. There will be a private family service Wednesday. Cards and letters would be greatly appreciated by Jean.
