Ervin J. Recker, 86, of Delphos, passed away Thursday evening, January 4, 2018 at Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center. His Family.... He was born December 25, 1931 to Herman and Martha (Utrup) Recker, who both preceded him in death. On April 11, 1953 he married the love of his life, Juletta (Utrup) Recker, who survives in Delphos. He was very proud of their 64 years of marriage. He is survived by a son, Mike Recker of Delphos; two daughters, Susan (Mark) Giangardella of North Canton, and Sharon (Evan) Reisman of Columbus; two sisters, Louella Zimmer of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, and Mary Lou (John) Wittler of Delphos; four grandchildren, Scott (Kate) Recker, Amanda Recker, Lisa Marie Giangardella, and Michael Reisman. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Elmer Recker; and a brother-in-law, Tom Zimmer. His Legacy.... Ervin was a lifetime farmer. He was a boiler operator at Central Soya and then went to Standard Oil Refinery for over 25 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, and former member of Knights of Columbus Council 1362. Ervin loved to play cards. They had spent some winters in Florida. Ervin truly loved his home, farm and his family. He dearly loved his grandkids and they loved spending time at the farm with grandma and grandpa. His Farewell Services.... Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Rev. Dennis Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Parish Foundation.
