Dolores M. German

Dolores M. German, 81, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday morning, September 19, 2018 at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born May 13, 1937 in McHenry, Illinois to Leo and Evelyn Catherine (May) Blake who both preceded her in death. On May 30, 1959, she married William J. German who preceded her in death on January 24, 2012. She is survived by a son, Dale (Miriam) German of Spencerville; three daughters, Cindy (Todd) Sorgen of Mentor, Marsha Recker and Linda (Bill) Hoffman, both of Delphos; two brothers, Tom (Theresa) Blake of McHenry, Illinois and Gerald (Sylvia) Blake of Wauconda, Illinois; four sisters, Sr. Eleanor Blake of Bensonville, Illinois, Elaine Gerding of Glandorf, Mitzie (John) Wolowic of Lake Villa, Illinois and Clarice (Ron) Howard of McHenry, Illinois; ten grandchildren, Sara and Jason Sorgen, both of Mentor, Scott (Kate) Recker of Louisville, Kentucky, Amanda (Jeff) Deckelman of Cincinnati, Bradley Hoffman of Columbus, Nate Hoffman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lucas Hoffman of Delphos, Nicole (Chandler) McCullough of Grove City, and Shanna and Derik German of Spencerville; and two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Bailey Sorgen of Mentor and Charley McCullough of Grove City. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Blake; and a sister, Jeannie Bigelow. Dolores was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She volunteered at the Red Cross and Interfaith Thrift Shop, Delphos, and loved to crochet. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Interfaith Thrift Shop, Delphos.
