Ken graduated from St Johns High School in 1967 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He proudly served his country till an honorable discharge in 1968. Ken was businesslike, systematic and results orientated when he pursued a career in Data Processing and management positions, and received many certificates for leadership/management, software/hardware systems. Throughout his career he worked for Champion Spark Plug, Electronic Data Systems and retired from Federal Mogul.
He also deeply loved his kitties Foster & Lil Kitty and enjoyed feeding any stray cats in the neighborhood. Ken was very adventurous and his favorite place was Lake Erie where he enjoyed fishing, stargazing with his telescope and snapping pictures with his polaroid camera.
Kenneth Lee Schimmoeller, 74, of Redford, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at The Wyngate Senior Living Community, Lima.
He was born May 12, 1949 in Lima to the late Kenneth H. and Mary A (Sanders) Schimmoeller.
Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Carman S. Kluse (Dr. Christopher Kluse) of Sylvania and Michelle M. Fischer of Lima; brothers, Steve (Marietta) Schimmoeller, Ron (Bert) Schimmoeller and Mike (Elaine) Schimmoeller all of Delphos; sisters, Jean Dickrede of Delphos and Mary Kay (Steve) Koester of Ottoville; grandchildren, Devin Peterson, Christian Fischer, Rebekah (Jon) Slagle, Collin Fischer; and great-grandchildren, Harper Schwiefert and Ashton Fischer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth H. and Mary A. Schimmoeller; brother-in-law, Kenneth J Dickrede and a son-in-law, David A Fischer.
Kenneth will be remembered most by his advocacy for disabilities, love of his pets, his beloved MGB and most as a loving father
A Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos.
A Private Celebration Of Life luncheon will follow at the Delphos Eagles.
