R. Jane Stallkamp

R. Jane Stallkamp, 96, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Vancrest of Ada. She was born April 13, 1921 at her grandparents' house in Jackson Township, Ft. Jennings to William W. ‘Pete' and Flora J. (Martin) Horstman who both preceded her in death. On April 11, 1942 she married Thomas L. Stallkamp who preceded her in death on June 19, 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie L. (Jim) Neumeier of Ada; a son, Rick P. Stallkamp of Florida and Alaska; two grandchildren, Lynn (Jay) Beaman-Conley of Kenton and Russell (Annette Winebrenner) Neumeier of Kendallville, IN; two great-grandchildren, Baylee and Brady Beaman; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Horstman of Ottoville and Leesburg, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill ‘Pete' Horstman Jr. who died on May 29, 2002; in-laws, Joe and Valeta Stallkamp and Bill and Alvina Stallkamp. Jane graduated from Ottoville High School in 1939 and from the Frederick's Beauty Academy, Lima in 1940. Mrs. Stallkamp was co-owner of Stallkamp Electric Inc. with her husband and brother-in-law, Bill and his wife, Alvina Stallkamp. Jane and Tom were owners of the Arrow Motel in Delphos, and she was owner and operator of Jane's Beauty Shop in Ottoville and Delphos for 33 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and also a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg, Florida. She was also a member of the Putnam County Genealogy Society, the Delphos Canal Commission, the Delphos Thrift Shop, and the Ottoville 500 Card Club for 50 years. She retired from the Ohio Legion Control Store in Delphos. Jane and Tom were world travelers. She was an avid Genealogist who wrote three books and had won awards as a ballroom dancer. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 40 service will be held at 4:00 p.m., and a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Vancrest of Ada or the Delphos Thrift Shop.
